Position Summary

Tidewater Lights is hiring full-cycle Sales Closers to help scale our lighting business without relying on a single salesperson. This role is designed for competitive, disciplined professionals who are willing to self-generate opportunities, follow a proven sales process, and close high-ticket residential lighting projects.

This is not a sit-and-close role. Success in this position requires daily door knocking, strong in-home presentation skills, and the ability to operate within a structured, accountability-driven sales environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate the majority of opportunities through self-generated door knocking

  • Run in-home lighting consultations and deliver professional demonstrations

  • Follow Tidewater Lights’ structured sales process without shortcuts

  • Present pricing clearly, confidently, and within approved margins

  • Close deals while protecting profitability and brand reputation

  • Maintain real-time CRM updates for all activities and appointments

  • Participate in mandatory daily Power Hour and ongoing sales training

  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth project handoffs

  • Represent Tidewater Lights professionally in neighborhoods and homes

Lead & Activity Expectations (Non-Negotiable)

This role is intentionally structured to attract hungry closers, not lead runners.

Activity Requirements

  • Minimum 50 doors knocked per day

  • 15 appointments per week

  • Appointments = demos (same expectation)

  • 5 days per week (full-time only)

Lead Mix

  • Approximately 70% self-generated leads (door knocking)

  • Approximately 30% company-provided leads

Company leads are limited to 1–2 per day maximum and are meant to supplement production—not replace self-generation.

This is not a part-time role and is not suitable for reps unwilling to knock daily.

Compensation & Earnings

This is a commission-only position with uncapped earning potential.

Earning Potential

  • Average performer: ~$70,000/year

  • Strong performer: $100,000+/year

  • Top performers: $250,000+ (uncapped)

Commission Structure (High-Level)

  • Higher commission on self-generated deals

  • Split commission on company-provided leads

  • Redline pricing model enforced to protect margins

Performance is rewarded. Discounting to “save” deals is not.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Doors knocked per day

  • Appointments set and run

  • Close rate

  • Average sale value

  • Sales process adherence

  • CRM accuracy and timeliness

  • Power Hour participation

Skipping the sales process or failing to meet activity standards is grounds for removal—even if deals are being sold.

Required Traits & Qualifications

We hire for attitude first, skill second.

You must be:

  • Competitive and self-motivated

  • Comfortable knocking doors daily

  • Coachable and process-driven

  • Confident speaking with homeowners

  • Organized and disciplined with follow-through

  • Able to operate in a high-accountability environment

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Willingness to work evenings as needed

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors daily

  • Prior sales experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate
