Sea Island, GA
onsite
$100,000-$130,000/yr

Sea Island is looking for an adaptive Financial Controller to fully own the accounting function for our Services Division. Acting as a strategic partner to our division directors, you will manage core month-end procedures and technical accounting fundamentals to help drive and grow the business. This isn't a stagnant role. It is an exciting opportunity to operate a fast-paced "startup" within a larger five-star corporate footprint. Our entrepreneurial division is a rapidly scaling powerhouse that evolved from a single side business into 12 diverse businesses spanning an expansive commercial nursery, landscape maintenance, million-dollar design and install projects, and luxury home builds. We are looking for a sharp leader who thrives without a rigid playbook, solves complex problems with ease, and is ready to shape the strategy of an actively growing enterprise. Who We Are • Forbes Five-Star Excellence: Home to three world-renowned Five-Star properties: The Cloister, The Lodge, and The Spa at Sea Island. • Beyond Hospitality: Driven by a multi-entity Services Division spanning Property Services, Luxury Construction & Development, Consolidated Landscape Services, and a commercial nursery. • Rich Heritage: Built on decades of warm Southern hospitality, coastal traditions, and uncompromised quality. • Growth-Oriented Environment: Combines luxury resort prestige with the dynamic momentum of a fast-growing commercial enterprise that acts like an agile startup within a larger corporate footprint. What You'll Do • Financial Controllership: Fully own the accounting function, bookkeeping, monthly close-out procedures, and ensure strict alignment with GAAP. • Process Evolution: Establish and streamline accounting procedures and processes as the business transitions to a more data-forward infrastructure. • Strategic Growth Partnership: Serve as a financial thought leader for the services division; partner directly with division leaders on ad-hoc projects, investment evaluations (ROI), and business growth strategies. • Regulatory & Tax Guidance: Research high-level accounting treatments and regulatory implications for expanding business lines, including cross-state regulations and tax impacts in new markets. • Systems Evolution: Assist in navigating an upcoming, division-wide implementation of a completely new software system over the next year. Who You Are • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a related field (Senior Consultant or early Manager experience is ideal). Experience navigating complex corporate environments or larger companies with multi-layered systems is highly preferred. • Credentials: Active CPA license (or active CPA candidate status) is a strong plus. • Business & Strategy Acumen: Comfort operating within "the gray" and an interest in financial strategy, ROI forecasting, and high-level analysis to guide business expansion. • Schedule: Full-time in office (4–5 days a week), split between the hotel's on-site accounting offices and the corporate services office. (Relocation stipends are open to review for high-caliber candidates). • Systems & Data Adaptability: High data literacy and a process-building mindset to help steer our division toward a data-centric, data-forward future, alongside an upcoming software rollout in your first year.
