Our vision is bold: • Rapid expansion beyond Chicagoland • Scaling to hundreds—eventually thousands—of Tesla Powerwall installations over the next 1–2 years • Becoming one of Tesla’s top partners for solar, storage, and EV charging solutions • Building the Midwest’s strongest solar division through quality, innovation, and elite technical leadership We are looking for a DG-certified, Chicago-licensed Lead Solar Electrician to anchor this growth and build a top-tier electrical division. Position Overview: We are hiring a Chicago-licensed electrician (or someone willing and able to obtain the Chicago license immediately) with ICC Distributed Generation (DG) Installer Certification. This individual will assign their Chicago electrical license to Phoenix and serve as our Head Electrician for solar, battery storage, and EV charging installations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all electrical operations in the solar division, ensuring code compliance, supporting Tesla certification programs, and scaling installation volume. Key Responsibilities • Serve as Phoenix Exteriors’ Lead Electrician and assign your Chicago electrical license to the company. • Oversee installation of: - Tesla Solar Roofs - Tesla Powerwall backup systems - SolarEdge and Enphase systems - Level 2 EV charging equipment • Lead electrical system design, permitting, and inspection coordination. • Ensure compliance with NEC, Chicago electrical codes, and utility requirements. • Train, develop, and oversee internal electrical and solar installation teams. • Communicate with AHJs, inspectors, and utilities for smooth interconnection approvals. • Support Phoenix’s growth into multi-state operations and higher-volume Tesla deployments. Required Qualifications: • Chicago Supervising Electrician License, or ability and commitment to obtain one immediately. • ICC Distributed Generation (DG) Installer Certification (required). • 5+ years of solar installation experience, including PV systems, inverters, and battery storage. • Experience with Tesla, SolarEdge, and/or Enphase installations. • Strong understanding of NEC and Chicago electrical code. • Ability to lead teams and scale a rapidly growing solar division. • Professional communication with clients, inspectors, utilities, and internal teams. Preferred Experience: • Previous leadership role as a foreman, lead electrician, or electrical supervisor in the solar industry. • Experience with complex backup systems, whole-home backup, smart panels, and advanced inverter ecosystems. • Comfortable working on premium residential projects. Compensation & Benefits: • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $150,000 – $175,000/year • Additional compensation for assigning your Chicago electrical license. • Full health insurance for the individual. • Performance bonuses tied to installation volume and division growth. • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance. • Paid training and Tesla certification pathways. • Significant long-term leadership opportunity as Phoenix expands regionally and nationally.
