Journeyman Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on commercial and industrial new construction projects. This includes interpreting blueprints, wiring layouts, and electrical schematics to ensure safe and code-compliant installations. The role involves running conduit, pulling wire, installing panels, switchgear, lighting systems, and other electrical components.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Install conduit, wiring, panels, transformers, switchgear, and controls.

Perform electrical terminations and testing to ensure system functionality.

Adhere to NEC (National Electrical Code), local codes, and safety regulations.

Work independently or as part of a crew under the supervision of a foreman or project manager.

Troubleshoot electrical systems during construction and provide solutions.

Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean jobsite.

Qualifications:

Valid Journeyman Electrician license.

3–5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial construction.

Proficiency with conduit bending, wiring methods, and electrical testing equipment.

Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.

Ability to work from heights, lift heavy materials, and operate power tools safely.
