The Summer Camp Director is responsible for managing, overseeing, planning, working, and promoting all Summer Camps at the designated gym. This role ensures successful event execution, staff coordination, customer satisfaction, and business growth through community outreach and marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Planning Responsibilities
Schedule staff for all weeks of camp
Plan event details such as crafts, science activities, games, and entertainment
Coordinate with management on schedules and field trips
Maintain an inventory of supplies needed for summer camp
Complete an expense report at the end of each week
Send a weekly email to all students enrolled in summer camp
Promote events by printing and posting flyers and ensuring they are distributed by coaches
Develop staff training programs and systems to enhance event quality
Explore new promotional strategies for summer camp
Conduct community outreach to increase enrollment
Day of Camp Responsibilities
Be present at all camps from 7:45 AM until 4:00 PM
Direct all activities at camp
Take a group if camp enrollment is under 30 kids
Engage with parents and children throughout the day
Ensure a high level of energy and activity throughout camp
Monitor staff performance, ensuring enthusiasm, engagement, and adherence to gym policies
Ensure all camp policies are being followed
Ensure the safety of all kids at camp, including proper sign-in and sign-out procedures
Oversee gym cleanliness and setup before, during, and after camp to maintain professional standards
Performance Benchmarks
Camp Attendance Goal: Maintain enrollment between 40 and 50 students
Bonus for Camp Attendance: $100 weekly bonus when attendance reaches 60 kids per week
Class Conversion Goal: At least 3 camp students not currently enrolled in classes convert to class registrations
General Expectations
Maintain professionalism in manner, presentation, speech, dress, and client interactions
Use polite and respectful language at all times (e.g., “please,” “thank you,” “yes ma’am,” “no ma’am”)
Ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing needs and enhancing experiences
Compensation
Administrative Rate: $10–$15 per hour (based on experience and performance)
Coaching Rate: $15–$25 per hour (based on experience and performance)
Bonuses: Awarded based on enrollment numbers and exceeding performance goals.
